Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole. ~Roger Caras

MEMBERSHIP IN HISTORIC CONGRESSIONAL CEMETERY'S K9 CORPS

Welcome to the Congressional Cemetery. Despite its name, Congressional Cemetery is not a government owned or operated facility; it is a private, non-profit, burial ground. Please keep in mind that Congressional is first and foremost a functioning cemetery, not a "dog park." Dogwalking is a privilege of membership in the K9 Corps Dogwalking Program.

Membership in the K9 Corps runs from March 1st to the last day in February the following year. Memberships are non-transferrable. The membership fee is a $200 tax deductible donation per family, and a $50 per dog fee, with maximum of three dogs.  Members are also asked to volunteer at least 12 hours per year.  We offer many types of volunteer work from gardening, to policing the grounds, to archiving, to hosting at events.

Existing members are invited to renew starting around December 15th.  On around January 16th, a count is taken of the number of dogs renewed, and the remaining slots will be offered to the same number of those on the waitlist, in the order in which they signed up. All new adult dogs must be neutered or spayed.

To join the waitlist, please click here to be taken directly to the waitlist signup page, or send an email to grrr@congressionalcemetery.org for more information. Membership is annual, and runs from March 1st through the last day of February the following year. We give current members from December 15th to January 15th to secure their membership for the year. After January 15th, we open the wait list, inviting new members to join. If spots open during the year, they will be offered to those on the list, in the order in which they signed up.
